Special Focus

2021 Special Focus Classes

Join us for some summer-themed Special Focus classes.

These Special Focus classes will be taught in the studio and online over Zoom, the same system as our Term classes. Special Focus classes will be recorded. Students who sign up for the class will have access to the recording for a month.

YOGA FOR HIKERS

We will focus on pre-hike poses (poses to build strength, stability, and balance), poses to do while on the trail, and poses for post hiking (recovery). Whether you are a seasoned backpacker or an occasional hiker, all should benefit from these poses.

YOGA ON THE GO: YOGA FOR TRAVELING, IN THE PARK AND ON THE WATER

This class will address some of the challenges and benefits of practicing yoga when you’re traveling or outdoors and may not have all the usual props. We’ll explore poses that are accessible when all you have is your mat, and play with some sequences suitable for travel, the park, and SUP (stand-up paddle board), with the goal of building confidence and sparking creativity in your practice. The next time you take your mat on the road, be ready to use it!

COOLING RESTORATIVE

As the summer temperatures heat up, you can cool down with a Restorative Yoga practice. A slow, soothing, and methodical approach will bring about relaxation and will be beneficial to the central nervous and endocrine systems. Emerge soothed, rested, and cooled.
